Just thought i'd create this message board as somewhere dedicated specifically to Brendan.

I've liked Brendan for about a year (that's bad, isn't it?). My favourite Brendan role is probably Bates although I seem to go through stages of liking different ones.

Other than Brendan I love Colin Firth, Hugh Laurie and a guy called Jeff Stelling who nobody seems to have heard of. Massively into football (or soccer) and support Aldershot Town, my hometown team.

Hello! Y'all know me. I am from Florida, I am married to a very understanding dude and have 2 boys. The husband insisted I watch Downton with him last year and by the tray scene I was dead & buried. The second thing I watched with Brendan in was Ghost Squad: Heroes and realized he was a Serious Actor and not just a celebrity. Been in love with Ralphie ever since. I started my Tumbler in March of this year as a place to pull all the images I was collecting. That may have been a mistake . Working on a website for ALL THE THINGS.

Hi! I know some of you from Twitter and Tumblr. I'm pretty new to Tumblr, but some of you may know me as for-good-and-proper (FGNP for short). I LOVE period dramas so of course HAD to see what Downton was all about. I had NO idea how much I would love it, and Bates! I was hypnotized as soon as I saw him on that train. And like Mrs FRS says, by the tray scene (or the "crying in the bedroom" scene, as I like to call it) - I was DEAD. The second thing I saw Brendan in was Lark Rise, which I loved, but then I watched North and South (also one of my favorite books) and fell in love with Higgins! He's my second favorite characetr after Bates!
I think I'm going to enjoy this forum!
Oh, one more thing: English isn't my native language, so I should apologize now for any grammar mistakes I might make (it's a good Job Brendan can't actually read this!). I try not to embarrass myself, usually I do ok, but things happen. Sorry about that!

I started watching Downton on March because Craig Ferguson and Tumblr wouldn't shut up about it and fell in love with Brendan in the first few minutes (train FTW). I don't really remember what i watched next but Duncan has a special place in my heart.

Other than Brendan i'm obsessed with Morrissey (god), craig ferguson and alec baldwin (and others but mainly them).

Hello. I'm Joana and i'm tilena-swag on tumblr, I think i already know most of you =)
I first saw Brendan in North and South and I became a massive fan of his work and face (chest, hands, legs... etc xD), then I saw him in Lark Rise and after that I started to watch all of his work. Downton was something that happen pretty normal...I saw the trailer for the first season here in Portugal one year ago, and when I saw that Brendan was in it of course I had to watch it, and Mr Bates became one of my favourite characters, mainly because I like damaged charaters with a secret past, and also I like age gap romances.
Now if you ask me wich of his charaters is my favourite I couldn't tell you because I don't have just one.
ps: as you may know I'm portuguese so is pretty normal that my english sucks...so...sorry about that =)

Hallo! I found myself on Tumblr a couple of months ago and then found all of the Downton/BC fans who make me feel normal. I remember almost falling into my laptop when I first saw BC on Downton and never said a peep because I thought people would look at me funny. Anyhoo, I'm glad to be socially acceptable!

The tray scene...oh yes....reminds me of something my grandfather would've done for my gran...and they were desperately in love with each other until their dying days.

Started watching DA because Netflix told me to. Thought it rocked. I had seen Brendan before in Conspiracy and recognized him. Love his work. Doesn't hurt that he is cute as a bug.

Hi all, I'm ITC on tumblr. I knew about Downton since 2010 because my British and Anglophile friends wouldn't shut up about it but I assumed it would be boring and silently judged them for watching it.

*cough*

Soooo, for some reason I thought I would give it a shot anyway and started watching in February of this year. I think it took me about a week to lose my sanity. I love Downton but about 80% of the appeal is Bates/BC whom I've had a debilitating crush on ever since.

Other than Downton I've seen him in a few things but Kaz is my favorite character of all.

I know you all from Tumblr where I go by the same username (I thought that would be easier to keep straight!)

Downton was where I first saw Brendan, I was watching the show from the very beginning on PBS, though I didn't get into the online world until after the Season 2 finale. I liked Bates from episode 1, but it was at that point where I had to go online and search out ALL THE THINGS! I have been totally hooked ever since.

I live in NYC and work in the field of film post-production. I also volunteer for various theatre-related companies/charities/events and see a ton of live theatre. I used to moderate a message board for Broadway performer Hugh Panaro (before all the activity there migrated onto Facebook) so I can help as well if you need more people.

Hard to pick a favorite character. Probably Bates, though I love Douglas & Manuel!

I'm a wedding photographer by day.. and I teach webdesign/multimedia at the local community college. Workin on getting some weddings booked in the UK. I've never been and want to go sooo bad.

I'm pretty monogamous when it comes to my fandoms. I usually stick pretty tight. I shipped Grissom and Sara SO HARD on CSI.. and then they got married and he left and it was all happy and stuff but I've had a void in my shipper heart til Anna and Bates showed up.

Hi everyone. It's HWW from tumblr. I'm 40ish and married with no kidz.

I first saw Brendan on Downton. I watched season's 1&2 all at once and Bates was my favorite character as soon as he appeared. The vulnerability Brendan was able to show with Bates still breaks and warms my heart.

I've been guilty of "shipping" in the past but was in a no-ship period and BAM Anna and Bates hit me hard. I was all - oh, great, here we go again.

I really needed to learn about this Mr. Coyle I knew nothing about 2 weeks prior. He was not my usual type (Bates definitely is) but I'm so charmed by him and his ways and himself. So, I'm getting to know his previous work and I'm excited to see what's next for him.
