In other words, the episode that will knock out Tumblr, and perhaps even cause the internet to falter.

What a bloody disappointment! I mean the first ten minutes were on track to be the best episode of Downton ever produced and then nothing happened!
Now I question the possibility of Baby Bates.

Freaking this not even a room for their celebration, while they are waiting for the cottage. Doesn't Robert knows that they're married and that they want to be with each other?! I hope next episode will be better, but I'm not excited. is better this way, I don't want to have another disappointment. =(

I wasn't disappointed with the episode. The only thing I thought was missing was a scene where they addressed the fact they wouldn't be sharing a room. If this had happened it would have been perfect.
I was hoping for a bedroom scene but wasn't surprised when we didn't get one. I think we have a much better chance when they move into their cottage when they can be alone.
Found all the touching and hand holding adorable. Was so pleased he thanked Anna upon his release. Had been hoping from the start of series 3 he would when he got out.
IMO the whole storyline has been weakly planned out, despite the dialogue between Banna in the prison scenes being heartfelt and the acting superb. Surely, with a better legal team poison in the pie crust would have been discovered before it even got as far as being sentenced to death? But hey, what do I know?
The 'something lovely' that happens in the Christmas episode, then Brendan saying children is something they would both like indicates a baby Bates. I think we should keep the faith. Episode 8 and the Christmas Special will provide us with the scenes we have been looking forward to.
The main thing is... Bates is free!

After some reflection, I realised that I was never going to be 100% satisfied with it. That said, I did love what we got of Anna and Mr. Bates.
I liked the Ethel story. Isobel's heart is clearly in the right place, but Violet is also correct. I hope that Ethel gets to go off and have a happy life.
I wonder how long the "it's what Sybil would want" refrain will work.
As for Thomas....
