Sorry I didn't upload a pic, I kinda suck at these things... North and South is one of my favorive books (love Gaskell) so of course I was really excited to see it. I love Higgins! He has a very special place in my heart. I remember the scene where he came home to find his daughter has died and he cried. It was so heartbreaking! He had a really hard life but he was a good man, smart and also a bit of a smart arse! (loved it when he said to Thornton "I reckon I'll leave my brains at home then!" after he offered him a job). And of course I LOVED his scruffy look. Gorgeous! ;D

I haven't seen this one yet but am dying to watch it as I've heard from a lot of people how amazing Brendan is in it.

Nicholas for you all. I loved North and South although I had the disc for ages and never watched it. Period pieces aren't really my bag or weren't until I saw Brendan in them. The only one I had seen from start to finish was Pride and Prejudice, and that was only because of a certain Mr Firth. The scene where he comes home to find out about his daughter gets me every time, such beautiful acting. I also love how his relationship with Richard Armitage's character grows towards the end. Lovely stuff.

I just watched it on Youtuve over and over again. Really can't get enough of Higgins! ;D

There's just that one infuriating little button holding his shirt closed.

I actually don't really like the main guy in this... or the girl... but it's a great story and I absolutely love the character of Higgins. And of course, Brendan looks drop dead in it!

Paid to reserve and borrow "N. and S." from our local library but hadn't got it all watched in the week I'd paid for so I was looking for a copy on eBay and was going to bid on one that afternoon when I saw that some were freebies from the "Daily Mail". Had a look in and amongst the humungous collection of DVD's of everything that we have around and there it was, I'd had it all the time. Thank goodness I found it before I bid, I thought getting it from the Library was embarrassing enough! And I still haven't finished watching it - the lead girl is always annoying and Mr. Armitage is a bit of a drip in this and so I find myself skipping through to the more 'interesting' bits - and always hoping that button is somehow magically going to pop open after so many viewings - not so far but I wil let you know if I get to the magic number.
