Ahhh, I could fill pages with all the reasons why I love Kaz but let me start with this. This is (one example of) why I love Dave's performance as Kaz. This is the final scene of True Dare Kiss. Kaz is in the background of this scene. The focus is on Kaz's wife Beth talking to her sister Phil. We just see him walking up arm in arm with Beth who then lets go of him to talk to Phil. Kaz is blind and usually holds onto someone to guide him. Here we see how one of the sons tugs his sleeve and you see Kaz reaching out, feeling for his son's arm, succeeding (I think) on his second attempt. THIS. This is such a tiny thing that you could easily miss if you're not paying attention but it is so perfect and genuine and essential. I love that he delivered such a consummate performance that was both emotionally layered and physically authentic. Truly fantastic.

LOVE Kaz. Love the bit where he cuts his sandwich & opens his beer. You can't keep your eyes off him, & not just for the normal reasons. Our Dave always gets the little details right.

Yes, FRS, yes! Kaz is totally mesmerizing in his movements imho.
I also just remembered from the scene I described above is that as soon as the boys realize Beth has let go of Kaz, not only does the younger son reach for his arm but the older one places his hand on Kaz's back to guide him forward. That moment alone encapsulates the relationship the boys have with their father. It's kinda sorta beautiful.

Brendan as Kaz. This is an absolute joy to watch. I have seen Pacino in Scent Of A Woman and he was amazing. Brendan's performance in this is wonderful and detailed. His acting skills are so good. I would love to see him give a Masterclass.

Not to ask a stupid question, but where do you watch it? I've only seen a few clips.

I know the DVD is available from Amazon UK. I torrented it from thebox.bz.

I got this from Amazon without having seen it before and when it arrived here I was so captivated with Brendan's performance I saw all the episodes in one go. I had to, I could not stop watching. When I found out how he got blind and he knew who did it OMG that was amazing acting.

Being a writer myself, I loved the layering of all the intertwined stories and the way all the characters had a voice, especially hard with such a large cast but what you strive to achieve, however, given that I'd worked it out by episode two or three, I was really cross to have wasted six hours of my life watching this when it was first on. Having said that, it was 2007, what does it say about Brendan's performance in it that, after all this time, I coudl remember vividly how absolutely amazing his acting and personification of Kaz was? He was pretty much all I could remember about having seen it. Wasn't wowed by or absorbed in him until "Starlings" so I'm a newbie in my appreciation but that performance really stuck with me despite that - it's my absolute favourite of his roles to date.

I've just finished watching this series and was just blown away by Brendan's performance. The actual storyline of the show was kinda crazy to me, but I loved Kaz and even his wife... it's oddly romantic when she calls him a 'dickhead' LOL

True Dare Kiss is what "edited for Brendan" was invented for, imo. The show is so awful but Dave is SO amazing in it.

It was a bit of a nonsense wasn't it? Plot worked out in episode two and then I hung on as I thought it could only get better - it didn't - and I remember thinking at the time that that was six hours of my life that I'd never get back. The only thing I remembered about it was that fact, and Brendan and his character being so amazing in it. Needless to say, when I had to revisit it, there was a lot of fast forward going on.
