If you had to pick the episode that best shows Robert's character, flaws and all, which episode would it be?

Great question, I'd also like to know what people think. So far I'm only half way through S1 so don't have much to go on, but I loved the ep when Laura hid from him at the beginning and then he hugged her at the end... Sorry, I don't know which ep it is.

Not sure, overall, but when Edmund wanted to quit school was quite good. Also, when the Squire fired him. Maybe when he got Fischer to admit that he wasn't going to stay.
Tough choices. I don't remember exactly which scenes are in which episodes, though.

When Edmund wanted to quit school. The scene where he's apologising to Emma gives me the butterflies. *sigh*

I loved the ep where all the kids get sick. Not because the kids get sick obvs, but Robert is so...Robert in that ep. He's bullheaded & longwinded & wonderful & loving & obnoxious etc.....rrrrawr

The episode where his tools are stolen and he gets Fisher to admit that he doesn't really want to stay in Candleford is the best to me. He's sexy Robert endulging his wife with champagne in the beginning; he gets to be enraged Robert about his tools and about Dorcas' interference; AND he is a loving, involved father when he is protecting Laura. All wrapped up in one GORGEOUS package. Yum!
