I'm not gloating but... I have been lucky enough to meet the man himself. I don't plan to again, it's just we sensed an opportunity and took it. It was at this years Hightide Festival, when Brendan was reading a role in the play, 'Seizing Cinderella.' Even seeing him just reading a part up close was incredible. He's such a gifted actor. I approached him afterwards, not really sure what to expect. I shouldn't have worried, he was charm personified. Telling us he would come and join us for a picture in a few moments, he was true to his word and found us. He was kind, charming and more than happy to stand and chat for a few moments. Just a wonderful moment I shall never forget.

Wow, you're so lucky, what a great experience and such a cool pic! I'm pretty excited right now because I just bought tickets to see Brendan in London on Oct 31st where he's narrating. I seriously can't wait, but I don't think I'd be brave enough to go up to him if I had the opportunity. Just seeing him act is going to be amazing!

Have a great time Yeah, me and my friend both said that seeing him live was amazing. The effort he puts into everything he does is incredible.

Sorry to double post, but I wanted to put my account of seeing Brendan in Reverie on here I know it's taken a while to get this up but I'm still in London and not home until Sunday, so don't have much free time... anyway... It's actually hard to put into words the experience of sitting about 3 meters away from 'himself' - dressed in a black shirt and jacket, acting up a storm, teasingly taking his glasses on and off, flailing his arms around, looking gorgeous and sounding like heaven... so I'll just describe my feelings as SFJKLSJF;AOwefhshdjkfksdhf!!!! He was amazing; I felt privileged to be that close, watching him perform. From the moment he stepped onto the stage he 'became' Debussy and stayed in character throughout, even when the music was being played and he was just sitting there. I literally couldn't take my eyes off him, so didn't really take any notice of the pianist... although she was amazing. When he was sitting down and had his glasses off, he looked melancholy at times (which fitted with the music/moment) and he looked just like Miles Butler! Yes, that about killled me. You could also tell that he was being moved by the music... just gorgeous to watch. Oh, and I noticed Joy was there! She walked right past my seat at the beginning, and during the interval my husband and I were standing very near to her while everyone was having drinks. I wasn't listening in on her conversation, but at one point I heard her say to the people she was talking to: "When I was at the Emmys with Brendan.." And I totally squeed inside! So... when the performance finished, we were a little late getting our coats/bags together. We walked out to the foyer part and most people were heading out the main door. First of all I saw the pianist talking to some people and then on the other side I saw Brendan signing someone's programme. I didn't think twice, and just went up and stood behind a couple of other people who were waiting. When it was 'my turn' he was just so nice. He beckoned me forward (like a boss) and gave me a big smile, he took my programme and said "What's your name?" I was totally star struck, but managed to get out the words out. But, I feel dumb as the whole time he was signing (it took a a while as he couldn't find the page with his bio on!) I didn't say anything, not even "I loved the show"... I just couldn't speak! Also, when he was in the middle of signing Joy came up to congratulate him! I was standing there and he asked her if she enjoyed it, etc... After he's signed he was about to go (and get changed I think) but I asked him if he'd mind taking a photo with me and he immediately said "Sure, no problem" Then he put his arm around me, so I put my arm around him... and basically DIED for a moment. There were so many people standing around who probably thought - what a fangirl, but I didn't care. I left there floating on air, and not able to breathe. When I got back, I felt bad about not telling him how great the performance was, so I tweeted him. And, to top off an amazing experience... the next morning I get a reply from him saying "Thank You, we're excited about this show" and basically died all over again... Sorry if I have rambled, I'm still on a MAJOR HIGH! I posted the pics on twitter but can't upload them on here right now, but will so ASAP

Thank you katejms for this beautiful account of your evening with Debussy, and meeting Brendan Coyle. We used to go to London in off-season once or twice a year and are so sorry that because of health problems and insurance issues, we can't do it for a while. Wish we had been there on October 31st ! Thank you again for sharing. Sincerely, lbmurray2011&petpetmur (Canada)
